ABOUT ME

During my PhD in the Integrative Vascular Physiology Lab at Penn State, I investigated the effects of reproductive aging in women on vascular health as well as the effects of dietary nitrate supplementation on resistance to vascular injury. Our lab utilizes techniques that involve Doppler ultrasound and near infrared spectroscopy to probe macrovascular and microvascular function, respectively.

In addition to my research activities, I am also passionate about science communication and outreach. I was the previous coordinator for Science on Tap at Penn State, a monthly event that features discussions led by university professors with the larger community. I was also a member of the Communications Committee for the American Physiological Society.
